Why Buy Your Domain and Microsoft 365 Email From Al Aida IT Instead of GoDaddy

It usually starts the same way. A construction or engineering firm in Dubai registers a domain through GoDaddy five or six years ago, adds a Microsoft 365 email bundle because it was the fastest checkout option, and never thinks about it again — until the day they need to open a new branch, switch IT providers, or lock down security after an incident. That's when someone asks a question nobody can answer: 'Who actually owns our domain and our tenant?'

In the UAE SME market — construction, contracting, engineering consultancies, trading companies — this is one of the most common and most expensive blind spots we find during onboarding. Every Microsoft 365 subscription lives inside a tenant — a dedicated instance of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) tied to your domain, with a unique Tenant ID. Whoever holds the Global Administrator role on that tenant controls everything: user accounts, mailboxes, security policies, Conditional Access rules, device management (Intune), and every byte of company email and files stored in Exchange Online and SharePoint.

When you buy an M365 bundle through a registrar reseller model like GoDaddy's, the setup is frequently done through a syndicated partner relationship where GoDaddy (or a sub-reseller behind them) retains delegated admin rights on your tenant by default, and your own IT staff often only get a standard admin or user role. You can add users and reset passwords, but you can't always see or change billing, can't freely change the Microsoft partner of record, and in some setups can't even export a full admin log without going through a support ticket to a third party you've never spoken to.
